Ambassadors Council
The Chamber's Ambassador Council serves as the "customer service" arm of the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors' Center. Ambassadors serve as liaisons between Chamber staff, board members, and our membership and keep our members informed of upcoming special events and programs and also solicit feedback from our members regarding current issues.
The Ambassador Council consists of volunteers from Chamber businesses, and also retirees, who stay in touch with current members. When an opportunity arises they will also recruit new Chamber members. They represent the Chamber at all sponsored functions and work to develop an on-going retention program. Ambassadors also hand deliver most of our plaques and door decals annually to our renewing members. On occasion Ambassadors will work in the Visitors' Center when the Chamber is short-staffed to assist visitors to our area.
The Ambassador Council meets on a monthly basis. Their meetings are organized around current Chamber activities. Each Ambassador receives an official "Chamber Ambassador" name badge which should be worn to all Chamber functions. Council members are required to sign an annual contract and are evaluated by a point system. At the end of each year, points are tabulated according to the attendance and involvement and an Ambassador of the Year is awarded at the Chamber's Annual Banquet in May of each year.
The Chamber Ambassador Council is vitally important to the mission of the Chamber as they help to build relationships with our members.
