N.R. Goodale State Park

For decades N.R. Goodale State Park has been offering the Camden area a serene setting for picnicking, fishing, and boating. The day-use park is named for a Camden florist who led the acquisition of the land for Kershaw County community retreat in the early 1950’s.

A focus of the park is a Civil War-era mill pond that is a 149-acre lake popular with fisherman and paddlers alike. Boat rentals and a three-mile canoe trail allow visitors to see up close an intriguing flooded cypress forest full of interesting flora and fauna. The park also has a rental community building.
