Kershaw County offers something for everyone.  Our area is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty, outdoor recreational opportunities, a large historic district (featuring over 60 sites pre-dating 1865), and mild climate with year-round activities.  "History, Horses, and Hospitality" abound throughout the county.  Visitors can experience a sense of history that dates to the earliest of days of the establishment of the colonies through the War for Independence and the development of the United States.

Events during the year range from the Carolina Cup and the Colonial Cup steeplechase race meets, polo, The Catfish Stomp in Elgin, The Bethune Chicken Strut, sporting clay competitions, fishing, hunting, trail riding, boating, horse shows, historical reenactments, historical tours, concerts, art shows, antiques, galas, Christmas Candlelight Tour, and much more.

Historic Camden Revolutionary War Site, Historic Boykin, Camden's Arts & Antique District, Lake Wateree, Goodale State Park, Springdale Race Course, The National Steeplechase Museum, The Camden Archives and Museum, Battle of Camden Historic Site, and our small communities are all part of the unique nature of this community.  Anyone spending time here will want to return.
