  • Colonized in 1730, Kershaw County is one of the oldest settled areas in the midlands of South Carolina.  During his second term, President George Washington spent the night in Camden where he was lavishly entertained. Our area is rich in history, with many beautiful old homes, open parks, and historic buildings including two buildings designed by Robert Mills. We have many genealogy resources to help you find your family's place in Kershaw County's past.
